Are the laundry facilities at Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans Riverside coin based or card based? Our party will be split between the two resorts and will need to do laundry at some point in our trip.

    Hi there, Cierra!

Welcome back to planDisney! I like to pack light, so I often take the chance to do a little laundry while I'm on vacation. You'll have plenty of options at the Walt Disney World Resort!

You'll be able to find Laundry Services at both The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. I was able to chat with a Cast Member this morning (Hi, Andresa!) who let me know that credit and debit cards are now accepted at all laundry locations for washers, dryers, and soap vending machines at most resort hotels. For the few locations that still have coin-operated machines, there should be a change machine available. So if you have a little bit of cash and a card then you should be good to go!

One of my favorite packing tips is to put a few dryer sheets in your suitcase to keep your clothes smelling fresh. Then you can use them when it's time to do laundry! It's nice to have a laundry bag, or just a regular garbage bag, to carry your clothes, too. One of the best laundry features at the resorts is the option to check if laundry machines are currently available online (just click the link that says "Learn more about machines currently available for use" to see the status) and then request a text message when your laundry is done. I wish my washer at home would text me!

Happy packing, Cierra! Don't forget to whistle while you work!

    Keep moving forward!
