I'm excited to hear about your upcoming
Disney Destiny sailing. I have yet to sail on this amazing ship, but my family was just a few waves away while sailing on Disney Dream on New Year's Eve. The Destiny looked amazing, even from a distance, so I'm sure you're destined for a magical voyage!
We've opted for the
second dinner seating on our last few cruises, and it's been a great way to enjoy a little more time in port without rushing to the table each night. My teens usually grab some chicken tenders or a slice of pizza from the pool deck as an appetizer before heading into whichever amazing live stage show is happening that night, but we all enjoy having a slower-paced meal to end the evening.
I reached out to a Disney Cruise Line Crew Member who confirmed that the Dine and Play program is back! This service is available for guests aged 3-10 in the 8:15 pm seating, and helps parents have an even more relaxed meal while the kids are off making memories in
Disney's Oceaneer Club. You can
pre-register your children for youth programming here, or stop by in person once you've boarded the ship.
Even though my kids have aged out, we still like to visit during
Open House on embarkation day to tour the spaces and snap some photos. I recommend doing the same so your kids can get a feel for the environment and activate their DisneyBand+ (or receive an alternate Youth Activities wristband), which will allow them to enter and exit the space once you've established a password and completed any required paperwork.
When you arrive for your rotational dining meal, let your server team know that your children plan to participate in the Dine and Play program. They'll expedite their entrees so they're nice and full when Youth Counselors arrive at the restaurant (typically between 9 pm and 9:15 pm each evening, except on embarkation day). A parent will need to escort the kids to the counselors to check in, then they'll be whisked away for fun while the rest of your table savors their meal.
