I know that unused park tickets can be used in the future if you don't end up attending, but does this apply to After Dark event tickets too? If not, what happens if I don't use the ticket the day of the event?

Hello Jordan, and welcome to planDisney! The Disneyland After Dark events are truly magical experiences filled with special character appearances, exclusive entertainment, themed food and merchandise, unique photo opportunities, and more. It would be a real Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer if you couldn’t attend, but Hakuna Matata, because there's something you can do so the ticket doesn't go to waste.

Jordan, per the website, tickets for Disneyland After Dark events are nonrefundable and may not be resold or transferred for commercial purposes. Also, the terms and conditions for Disney eTickets state that the amount paid for an unused, expired special event ticket cannot be applied towards the purchase of a new theme park ticket. However, all is not lost! If you can't attend, you can gift the ticket to a friend or family member. If you’d like to change the name on the ticket, call the Tickets line and speak with a Cast Member. In many cases, the name on the ticket doesn’t actually need to match the Guest attending – the ticket is formally assigned at the entrance gate, when a Cast Member ties a photo to the ticket after it is scanned.

There are a few After Dark events coming up soon, the next being Star Wars Nite on select dates in April and May. You can expect Character sightings from a galaxy far, far away, a lively party zone, a lightsaber skills demonstration, and even a cavalcade of fans dressed in their best Star Wars attire. That's just the start of it. Talk about a galactically good time! In June, Pride Nite will return – keep an eye on the Disneyland Instagram account for an announcement about when tickets will go on sale!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when attending a Disneyland After Dark event:

    • You can dress up to match the theme! Just be mindful of the costume guidelines.
    • You can typically enter Disneyland three hours before the event begins. This is a great time to eat dinner, so that when the event starts, you can dive right into the fun.
    • Take advantage of unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos taken during the event – it's a nice way to capture memories of the special night.
Jordan, I'll sprinkle some pixie dust and make a wish that you'll be able to enjoy the event as planned. If that doesn't happen, I hope you have the perfect person in mind to gift this memorable experience to. If you have any other questions, please let us know. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
