Simon from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My sister purchased a 3-day park hopper for me and I have 1 day left on it. What's the best way to upgrade to a Magic Key Pass? The ticket is linked to my account and also to her as the owner.

Hello Simon, and welcome to planDisney! It's exciting that you're interested in getting a Magic Key pass! This is a great year for it, with the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary kicking off soon. Let's talk about how to upgrade your ticket!

First, a note about timing, Simon: At the time of writing this, the Enchant Key is the only pass still available for sale. If sales pause before you upgrade your ticket, you'd be out of luck, so I recommend doing it sooner rather than later. You have until midnight on the last valid day of your ticket to upgrade, assuming the Magic Key is still available.

The Guest purchasing the upgrade must be the person who used the ticket for theme park admission. Simon, since you have used the ticket to enter a Disneyland Resort theme park twice, it is tied to you, and you'd be the one to upgrade it. You should be able to do it on the Disneyland mobile app if your ticket is eligible – tap the three horizontal lines (≡) at the bottom of the screen and then tap "My Tickets & Passes." From there, you should be able to select your ticket and follow the prompt to upgrade. You can also go to an on-site ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort. There is a "How to Guide" on the Disneyland website with helpful tips that you can refer to.

I'm a big fan of the Magic Key Passes and the perks they unlock, including discounts on food, merchandise, and more. There are also special extras and experiences throughout the year just for Magic Key holders, which you can check out in the Magic Key portal on the app or on the website. You'll be excited that you can park hop with your Magic Key pass, as well. Above all, my favorite part is knowing that I typically have another Disneyland Resort visit on the horizon – there's always magic to look forward to!

Simon, I'll wish upon a star that it all works out and that you join the Magic Key family. If you have any other questions, you are welcome to head back here to planDisney – we're always happy to help!
