if you make a park reservation the same day with your magic pass but only 1 park is available to reserve, could you enter the other park?

Greetings, Sofia, and welcome to planDisney! As a Magic Key Holder, I'm thrilled to help answer your question about theme park reservations.

Are you ready for some pixie-dusted news, Sofia? It is possible to park hop with a Magic Key pass, meaning, with a reservation, you can enter either park after 11 a.m. This is the case even when the other park doesn't show reservations as being available. Keep in mind, however, that the ability to visit the second park is subject to capacity limitations and is not guaranteed. I've personally never had an issue crossing into the other park, but it's something to keep in mind if you are visiting at certain times of year or on holidays.

I park hop all the time – it's such a nice benefit of the Magic Key pass. Here's a story for you: I absolutely love Animation Academy in California Adventure and try to do a drawing session each time I visit the Disneyland Resort. I had the day off and wanted to go, but no reservations were available for California Adventure. So I got a reservation for Disneyland, spent the morning there, and went into California Adventure after lunch. I learned how to draw Winnie the Pooh that day, by the way! Had I arrived at the Disneyland Resort after 11 a.m., I could have gone into California Adventure even though my reservation was for Disneyland – you don't have to enter your reserved park first if it's after that magical time.

Sofia, do you have the Disneyland mobile app, and are notifications enabled? If there is ever a time when Guests are not able to cross over into the other park, a real-time push notification will be sent out through the app. It's always good to be prepared! Plus, the app is so helpful for checking wait times, ordering food, linking PhotoPass photos, and more.

This is a fantastic year to have a Magic Key pass. There are so many exciting things on the horizon, so it's extra special to have the opportunity to visit repeatedly. I'm most looking forward to the 70th Anniversary Celebration starting in mid-May. There will be colorful decorations, collectible merchandise, unique entertainment, and more. The Disney Parks Blog shared an article detailing some of the year's other events, like the California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, Halloween Time, the Holidays, and more. Make sure to follow the official Disneyland Magic Key account on Instagram for other exciting updates as the year goes on.

Sofia, I hope you have a wonderful year filled with happy memories at the Disneyland Resort. If you have any questions, please let us know. We're always glad to help here at planDisney!
