Hello! I know Soarin and Rockin Rollercoaster are now opening on the 26th. We arrive on the 23rd and are staying on property. Will I be able to book those rides during my advanced 7 day lighting lane booking window for the 26th or after?

Hi Katharine, and welcome to planDisney! While I love a Walt Disney World vacation any time of year, May is my absolute favorite. You are in for a truly magical visit during one of the most beautiful seasons!

May 26 is a big day at Walt Disney World this year! As you mentioned, not only do Soarin’ Across America and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets open, but it is also the official kick-off of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER! You couldn’t have picked a better week to visit! One of the many advantages of staying in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel is that you get that 7-day advance booking window on Lightning Lane passes. With these rides opening just three days after you arrive, you should be able to book them at that 7-day mark. These are going to be popular attractions, so you are smart to get those Lightning Lanes! I would expect Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to be a Tier 1 attraction just as it was in the past. Soarin’ Around the World is currently a Tier 2 attraction at EPCOT, so hopefully Soarin’ Across America will be as well!

While you’re visiting, be sure to also check out the new and improved Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. I hear the new upgrades make it more fun and interactive than ever, so we may finally be able to defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also set to reopen on May 3 after extensive upgrades and refurbishment. You’ll be there just in time for an even wilder ride in the wilderness!

Katharine, I hope you are getting excited for your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! There will be so much extra magic happening during your visit, so there's a lot to look forward to. If you have any more questions, stop back by and see me. I’m here to help add extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!

    Your pal,
    Casey
