Hello, Crystal!
Thanks for coming back to us with another great question. I actually just opened an email about this year's Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend events before coming across your question. This event will always have a special place in my heart as it was my first ever runDisney experience and also when I found out I was going to be a planDisney panelist. I definitely celebrated big that year!
I love this year's theme of Disney Chefs. Who wouldn't want to run a 5k inspired by the Muppet's Swedish Chef? I can already picture the hilarious on-course antics. As a big fan of Ratatouille (and proud dog mom to a pup named Remy), I also have my eye on the Chef Remy-inspired Half Marathon. Anyone can cook and anyone can run are two mottos to live by! We won't see the course maps until much closer to the event dates but trust that characters, music and plenty of fun await you as you complete those magical miles. I just might need to steal a page from your playbook and invite my kids to tackle a race with me this year. We'll see!
Registration for the
Disney Wine and Dine 5k will open to Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members on March 5th, with general registration opening at 10:00 a.m. EST on March 12. I don't have a secret recipe for securing those coveted race registrations but I'm happy to share my best tips. First, be sure are logged on to the site a few minutes before the official registration start. I'd recommend trying to register from your laptop as well as your phone. I've had better luck using my phone on recent registrations, but it's really luck of the draw. To expedite the process have your registration information and credit card details already typed out so you can easily copy and paste into the appropriate fields.
I believe you'll be able to
register multiple runners at once, but as my pal Sally mentions, registration is not confirmed until your payment is processed. You'll want to have every participant's information ready to go and prepare your fingers for some speed racing of their own to get the fields completed quickly. Lynn also shares a few extra
helpful registration tips here that I think are worth reading as you prepare. If you can enlist a family member or friend to help you with the registration process that can also save some time. Have whoever gets access to the system first begin the process and when the next person gets access they'll hopefully be able to register any remaining runners.
Crystal, I'm crossing my fingers you'll get to experience this event with your crew this fall. If we can answer any additional questions in the meantime, please come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
