Hi Katie! Welcome back to planDisney!
Friend, how exciting is it even just to think about running down Main Street U.S.A. with so many adoring fans cheering for you? I can feel the butterflies in my belly just remembering the sounds of the cowbells and the first glimpse of Cinderella Castle as the sun is rising.
runDisney is always special, and the events that weave through
Magic Kingdom Park simply cannot be topped. I'm so pumped for you, your friends, & your family!
Alright, but first we have to get you through
Coronation Registration Day. Let's do this!
Yes, you can register multiple people at once. However, your registration is not complete, and your spot is not held, until you complete the purchase. That means that even though a registration is in your cart while you fill out the other participant information, the event can still sell out. This makes me a little nervous about aiming for five registrations at one time.
Now, if you are feeling like it is an "All for one and one for all" type of experience and either everyone is in or everyone is out, then this could be one way to handle the big day. Otherwise, I recommend that you task a few people with dividing and conquering. Maybe enlist some tech-savvy, non-runner friends in the mission.
Make sure that everyone has completed the proper warmup for their fingers, is appropriately fueled, and is at the starting line (computer) a few minutes before the Virtual Queue opens at 10 AM EST on April 9, 2024. Once the Queue opens up, everyone enters in a randomly assigned order. Keep in mind that there can be a bit (ahem...an hour is not unheard of) wait before it's your turn to select your distance and complete the registration.
One way to be sure that you can all participate would be to leave the excitement of registration day behind and sign-up for
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend through a
participating Charity. You can run for a great cause and secure guaranteed entry into the race distance of your choice. I have participated in runDisney events with a few different Charities over the years and while it does add an extra element of preparation, it is always worth it! Always.
I hope that helps, Katie! I believe in you. I know you are ready to Go the Distance & I hope to see you in the corrals!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Sally
