Hey there, Maribel! Welcome to planDisney - and Welcome Home to a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member! I'm always thinking about how to use my
Vacation Points for another Disney adventure, and I'm here with the information you need to make your dream getaway a reality. Let's dive right in, shall we?
Over the years, I have definitely come to appreciate the flexibility of our membership. Being able to use our points in lots of different ways beyond our Home Resort has given us the opportunity to have some really memorable vacations. For anything that you wish to book beyond a DVC resort, you can exchange your Vacation Points for Reservation Points. These can be used for stays at the
Disney Collection hotels, sailings with
Disney Cruise Line, trips with
Adventures by Disney,
National Geographic Expeditions, and stays with
Interval International.
Before booking, it's a good idea to spend some time reviewing the
DCL Points Charts. These will show you exactly how many points are needed for each itinerary, organized by sailing date and type of accommodation. It's important to know that one Guest in each stateroom must be booked
completely with points - you can't combine cash and points for that individual. Keep in mind that this Guest can be a child or infant, which will use fewer points (which means more points available for another vacation!). Beyond that one Guest, others in the room can be booked with either points or cash.
Once you choose your preferred itinerary and dates, you'll need to contact
Member Services for some friendly assistance. They will be able to make the points exchange and book your sailing in a snap! Then, you can turn your attention to travel details, onboard must-dos, and port excursions!
Maribel, I hope this information is just what you need to set sail on a well-deserved vacation with DCL! Please come see us again at planDisney anytime if we can help with any details for your cruise (or the
Walt Disney World Resort stay that you should ABSOLUTELY tack on before or after...). We're always here to help.
Stay (and sail!) Magical!
Susan
