Hi there, Lynn! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney with your excellent vacation planning question. I'll be happy to share some tips for using your
Disney Vacation Club Membership for a magical sailing with
Disney Cruise Line. Let's get down to business!
Without a doubt, one of the best parts of DVC is being able to use your
Vacation Points for Disney adventures beyond the DVC resorts. This includes the
Disney Collection hotels around the world (I've got my eye on a
Tokyo trip!),
Adventures by Disney,
National Geographic Expeditions,
Interval International...and of course, Disney Cruise Line! All of these choices are possible with a points exchange. DVC Members may exchange their Vacation Points for Reservation Points to book any of these non-DVC options.
Lynn, your first stop should be the
DCL Points Charts, which will help you calculate how many points you need per person for your preferred sailing. It's important to know that at least one person
per cabin must be booked entirely with points. This Guest can be anyone staying in the room - including a child or infant, who will use fewer points. You can use cash to pay for additional Guests in the room or more points, but you cannot
combine cash and points for any one person. Cash and points must be paid at the time of booking, and there is no option to spread out payments.
Once you're ready to book your 2027 voyage, contact
Member Services. The always-helpful Cast Members will handle the transaction to convert your Vacation Points, and can also book your cruise. Then your job will be choosing which port excursions you want to enjoy!
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Lynn! Please don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions about your DVC Membership or your DCL sailing - we are always delighted to help.
Stay (and sail!) Magical!
Susan
