Hiya Yesenia,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy that you are planning a vacation to the place where everything is more magical, Walt Disney World Resort!
Between resort accommodations, food, merchandise,
Enchanting Extras, and
Theme Park tickets, the need to budget for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is essential. Only Guests who have a
Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package (which includes Theme Park tickets and a stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel) can make payments towards their vacation. Unfortunately, Theme Park tickets must be purchased in full at checkout.
If a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel stay is not part of your planned itinerary, you can still budget ahead using
Disney Gift Cards. Every time I plan a visit with my family, we sit down and list everything we must pay for during our stay. We even look up the menus of our dream table service reservations to get as close to our actual budgetary needs as possible. Then we take that rough estimate and start purchasing Disney Gift Cards a little at a time until we have all that we need for the trip. The great thing is that Disney Gift Cards can be purchased in increments as small as $25, so I can save for my trip in a comfortable way. Once I gather the amount I need, I combine all of them onto one card (max of $1,000 can be added to each card). This is important because when you make purchases on the Walt Disney World website, you can only enter one Disney Gift Card per purchase. So let’s say you have four-$200 Disney Gift Cards, but they are not combined, you would only be able to input information for one of those gift cards, and then you would have to pay the remaining balance with a credit/debit card.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the answer you were hoping for, Yesenia. Hopefully, my tip is helpful for you in budgeting for your Walt Disney World Vacation. Don’t forget that after you purchase Theme Park Tickets, you will need to make
Disney Park Pass Reservations! Please come back and see us if there is anything else we can do to help.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
