I have 2 kids that want to ride rollercoasters but my wife does not. Can I ride with one child and then get a rider swap and ride again with the other child? Also, does this work for lightning lane

    Hi Nicholas!

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney!

You got it…Rider Switch would be the perfect service to use in this case! Before getting in line for the attraction, just let the Cast Member at the entrance of the queue know you’d like to use Rider Switch, and they’ll get you all set up.

Rider Switch can also be used with Lightning Lanes as long as everyone riding has a Lightning Lane for that attraction. The nice thing about that is everyone will get to enter through the Lightning Lane instead of the first group needing to wait in the standby queue. Such a time saver!

If your wife won’t be using her Lightning Lane for that attraction, make sure you don’t check her name off when booking it - or - have her scan into the ride even if she won’t be riding. That way, you’ll all be eligible when it’s time to book your next Lightning Lane together.

It’s good to note that kids 7 and older can ride in their own ride vehicle if they’re comfortable with that. So, if one of your kids is old enough and up for the adventure, you’ll be able to ride at the same time.

My oldest guy is still too nervous to ride by himself, though, so we take advantage of Rider Switch quite a bit! The Cast Members are always so helpful.

Hope you and your family have the best time! Let us know if any other questions pop up while you continue to plan your trip.
