Greetings, Carol, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled to hear you're planning a
Walt Disney World Resort visit in a few weeks and even more excited that you're considering a backstage tour. Let's look at how and when you can book an
Enchanting Extra to make your visit even more magical.
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is typically available seven days a week, but I checked the calendar and saw that Easter Sunday is grayed out. Since guests can book this tour 60 days in advance, I can't see beyond mid-May, but I'm guessing the tour will be available most days during your trip. And since you're within the 60-day booking window, my top tip is to secure a reservation as soon as possible.
Tour start times are 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, or 9:30 most mornings. You'll check in at Tony's Town Square Restaurant inside the
Magic Kingdom Park entrance, where you'll receive a lanyard and listening device. Your knowledgeable tour guide will regale you with fascinating facts and trivia about Walt Disney and his theme parks. This walking tour lasts about five hours, so wear comfy shoes and sunscreen.
I see a few spots for single guests available the week you arrive, but if you don't see availability for your party, I suggest you keep checking. Guests' plans change in the days leading up to their visit, so you might get lucky and find an opening. I like to
check for available spots within a 10-day period on the calendar. I'm currently on the hunt for openings for the
Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I'm waving my magic wand for both of us!
A friend and I recently enjoyed the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and I highly recommend it. I thought I knew about Disney's history, but I learned so much from our guide. Lunch was included, and we felt like VIPs as we went on attractions, backstage, and even "under the stage!"
Carol, I hope your upcoming visit is full of magical memories. Please
stop by planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
