We have a Keys to the Kingdom tour coming up and I have recently found myself on a knee scooter due to an ankle injury. Will I be able to use the scooter on the tour? I know the tour is long, so I’m also wondering if a wheel chair would be more comfortable

    Hi there, Jennifer!

You're just TWO sleeps away from The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! Thanks for making us at planDisney a part of your pixie-dusted planning. You've actually stopped by with your question at the practically perfect time because my husband and I enjoyed Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour just a few weeks ago, so I'm delighted to share a bit of my insight with you today!

My husband and I have been frequent visitors to Walt Disney World Resort for the past decade, and the Keys to the Kingdom Tour has long been on our list of magical must-dos. I'm here to assure you, Jennifer, that it definitely exceeded our expectations. What a dream it was to see first-hand how the magic is made, learn a bit about the history of our happy place, and be reminded of the dedication required to bring Walt's vision to life...and I can't accurately put into words how thrilling it was to enter the legendary Utilidor!

Now, it is indeed a full day...most of which involved walking or standing in various parts of Magic Kingdom Park. Because the only seated portion of our tour was lunch and the two attractions we experienced, I would think that you'll be much more comfortable in a wheelchair, as I would imagine standing on a knee scooter for approximately 4 hours would be quite taxing. Happily, the tour is wheelchair accessible, so you won't need to miss a minute of the magic! Of course, if you feel more comfortable navigating Magic Kingdom Park with your knee scooter, that would not pose a problem for the tour either.

However you choose to travel, I would suggest arriving to check in at Town Square Theatre a bit earlier than the required 15 minutes so that you can speak with a Cast Member about your mobility accommodations.

I hope this is helpful for you, Jennifer, and that you love Keys to the Kingdom as much as I did. Be sure to come with those long-held burning questions!

Speaking of questions, feel free to come see us again at planDisney. We're always happy to help!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
    Lizzie
