Hello! I'm going to Walt Disney World with my girlfriend and I want to surprise her and book a table in a signature restaurant. We are connected in MDE so is she going to see the reservation in the planning ?

Hey there, hi there, Alison! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!

I couldn't be happier to see you have a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth right on the horizon. And since you and your girlfriend are visiting during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts (my favorite fest!), you could not be visiting Walt Disney World Resort at a better time. I can't imagine a more romantic or magical way to surprise your girlfriend than with a fabulous fine dining experience, and I'm thrilled to help with this pixie-dusted surprise!

Typically, when you make a dining reservation with someone who also has a My Disney Experience account and is connected to you via your Family & Friends List, they will be able to see that dining reservation under their plans. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." There is a way to keep your dining reservation a sweet secret!

When you make your dining reservation for you and your girlfriend, make it for two Guests, but do not list her as one of the Guests. Just leave her listed as "Guest 2" on the reservation. Then, change her settings on your Family & Friends List to allow her to only view the plans you two share. To do that, log into your My Disney Experience account, hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab and click "My Family & Friends." Click "Settings" next to your girlfriend's profile and switch off to only let her see your shared plans for the time being (Don't worry ... This process can always be reversed after your trip!).

Now, since your girlfriend is not listed as a Guest on your special reservation and can only see the plans she is listed on, your dining experience will remain our little secret until you're ready. While you really can't go wrong with any of the Signature Dining experiences, enjoying a fabulous dinner at California Grill before watching the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular from the restaurant is one of my favorite ways to top off the best Disney day. Have a magical evening!

I hope this helps, Alison, and I hope you and your girlfriend have an unforgettable time together. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,

    Mandy
