I'm trying to reserve dining for 1 at the Blue Bayou and Carnation Cafe. When I attempted to book the reservations right when they became available, there are no reservations for a party of 1, yet plenty for 3. Do they no longer accept for party of 1?

Welcome to planDisney, Eric! Making dining reservations can be a key part of your Disneyland Resort adventure, and I’m delighted to help you find the perfect spot for that all-important meal.

At times, the dining reservation system may not allow bookings for a party of one at certain locations. But here’s a great tip I picked up from a helpful Cast Member, Alfredo! If you run into this issue, simply adjust your party size to two when making your reservation. Then, when you check in, let the Cast Member know you’d like to modify it to a party of one. There’s no penalty or cancellation fee for removing a guest, so this little tip can help ensure you secure a spot!

Now, let’s talk about your upcoming visit! I checked the reservation calendar for Carnation Café on your selected date, and I have some good news: at the time I looked, there were still several reservations for two available throughout the day. However, it does seem that Blue Bayou is currently fully booked for that date. But don’t give up hope just yet! Reservation availability can change as guests modify their plans, so keep checking in the days leading up to your visit. You can also take advantage of the Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability feature in the Disneyland app. Just check for availability, add your party to the list, and wait for a notification when your table is ready. My wife and I have had great success with this method, even scoring last-minute seats at Lamplight Lounge!

If you’re looking for another fantastic dining experience in New Orleans Square, may I suggest Café Orleans? With its Creole-Cajun flavors and charming patio seating, it’s one of the most relaxing dining spots in the park. A refreshing Mint Julep and a crispy, golden Monte Cristo? Sounds like a practically perfect springtime meal! Alternatively, just across the way in Frontierland, River Belle Terrace offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious options, especially for brunch. It’s a great midday recharge. In fact, I have a reservation coming up soon because the Country Cuban Sandwich has been calling my name!

I hope this helps you secure a spot for a delicious meal at Disneyland, Eric! If you have any more questions or need additional tips, please visit us again at planDisney.

    Wishing you a magical visit!
