You're going to Disney World, De'Nequa! I am positively thrilled for you and your family, and it's my absolute pleasure to welcome you to planDisney. You have come to the right place to get your vacation planning journey started, and I am eager to share tips, advice, and useful resources that will guide you along the way. Are you ready to plan the best vacation ever? Me too!
Whenever I find out someone is going to Disney World, the first question I ask them is, "where are you staying?" Choosing a Disney Resort hotel is one of the most consequential decisions you will make while planning a Disney vacation because it is your home away from home and situates you in the resort area with access to transportation, theme parks, restaurants, and more. You may value proximity to the monorail or Skyliner or want a resort that is quieter and further from the hustle and bustle of the parks. I have stayed at many of the resorts, and they are all gems! Each brings unique offerings, amenities, and theming, and there's something for every party size and budget. Since you are a family of 6, you may want to consider Family Suites at
Disney's All-Star Music Resort or
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. There are also
Deluxe Villa options that provide an incredible amount of space for everyone to spread out.
Once lodging is secured, I like to start putting together a rough itinerary of what I want to do each day of my trip. Will I visit a park or have a resort day? Do I want to have breakfast or dinner at a table service restaurant? Am I focusing on attractions or entertainment? You can explore offerings at
four theme parks,
two water parks, and the specialty shopping district,
Disney Springs. This
Family Vacation Planning Guide will help you learn about top picks for families visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Next up:
dining. Food is just as important to me as riding attractions! From the latest viral snacks to tried and true experiences I visit time and time again, dining at Disney World is an attraction in itself. Reservations for restaurants can be made 60 days in advance, and you might want to explore the convenience of
Dining Plans to prepay for your meals on vacation.
This should help you get started, and there are a few more quick tips I want to share:
- Download the My Disney Experience app to streamline planning. The app shows attraction wait times, entertainment schedules, and park maps, plus it allows you to mobile order food, unlock your resort hotel room door, make dining reservations, and more. It is a must have!
- Check out this Vacation Checklist to learn about managing plans, booking Enchanting Extras, and purchasing the Memory Maker photo package.
Come back and see us any time while you're planning, De'Nequa! We love helping our fellow guests make the most of their Disney vacations.
Stay magical,
Scott
