I’m taking my 20 y/o granddaughter and her 5 y/o brother to WDW. Their dad is active military, and they have valid military IDs. Can we purchase Military tickets and have my granddaughter activate them at the parks, or does a parent need to do it.

Hi Kelli, and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for stopping by with your question, and from all of us, thank you for your family member's service! The military member can purchase Magic Your Way tickets at the military rate at his local base's ITT/MWR travel office, and what's great about these tickets is that no activation is needed. As long as they are linked to your My Disney Experience mobile app and Theme Park Reservations are made, you are good to go! The Disney Military Salute ticket is a great ticket option in value. However, only the servicemember or their spouse are the only ones that can activate them.

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel during your visit, you have the magical bonus of visiting Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park on your check-in day! Be sure to have your pool bag ready to go when you arrive, even if your resort room isn't ready! Drop off your luggage with Bell Services and hop on the Disney Transportation bus to start your vacation. Blizzard Beach opened for the season yesterday, and it is full of attractions for Mouseketeers of all ages. Your grandson will love Tikes Peak, and if your granddaughter is a risk taker, be sure to add Summit Plummet to her plans!

I hope all of this information was helpful, Kelli! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. I hope you have a magical vacation with the Grands!

    Choose Magic!
