Hi there, Tamara! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I'm happy to help you!
First of all, what an amazing mom you are to buy your son and his family annual passes to
Walt Disney World! The good news is that you do not need to be present for them to obtain and use their
annual passes! To purchase the tickets, log on to your My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website. You need to be connected to your son and his family as "Family & Friends." During the purchasing process, you will be instructed to assign the passes to individuals on your Family & Friends list.
After the purchase, check to ensure the tickets are under their names. If not, you can click each pass to reassign it to the appropriate family member. If you have any difficulty, call the
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders number, and a Cast Member will be happy to assist you. With the tickets assigned to them, they will be good to go!
Disney Parks Blog shared a post recently about being an annual passholder that you might like to check out, so I'll link it
here. And my friend and fellow panelist, Sakinah, wrote an answer about the benefits that is helpful, so I'll link that
here.
Have the most magical time with your family, Tamara! And if you have any more questions, definitely come back and see us here at
planDisney!
