Hi Emara! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited that you're planning to spend the holidays at Disney World! It's going to be such a magical experience with all the festive decorations, exclusive tasty treats, and unique entertainment options that you can only enjoy this time of year. Don't forget to make some advance plans using your
My Disney Experience app so you can catch all the fun!
Now, about your question: while you don't need
a theme park reservation with your
date-based tickets, all Guests still need to follow the safety measures at the theme parks. If a park happens to reach capacity, no one else will be allowed in until it's safe again, no matter what kind of ticket you have or if you have a theme park reservation for that day. Safety is always Disney's top priority.
Having said that, I can't think of a time when the parks reached maximum capacity on December 29th, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen this year. So, my best tip is to arrive early and plan on spending the whole day at Magic Kingdom, as you might not be able to return if you leave.
Also, keep in mind that when the parks have hit capacity in the past, it usually doesn't stay that way all day. As Guests move around from one park to another or head back to their
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the gates can open back up at any time, depending on Disney's decision about safety.
I hope that helps, Emara! If you have any more questions or need anything else,
just let us know. It's always a joy to help out awesome friends like you!
Cheers,
Nilson
