So I’m looking to book summer of 2027 and I’m wondering if I book an interior then change my mind and want an ocean view can I upgrade the room before final payment?

Ahoy, Krista! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your planning questions to set you on course for smooth sailing with Disney Cruise Line.

It sounds like you have already been checking out the Summer 2027 itineraries and are ready to officially book your vacation for next year. I am happy to report that Disney Cruise Line does generally allow guests to change or upgrade staterooms, subject to some restrictions. For example, guaranteed stateroom category bookings and staterooms booked under special offers or limited promotions may have regulations that prevent certain changes from being made.

If your stateroom is eligible for an upgrade, then you can make the changes yourself by logging into your MyDisney account on the Disney Cruise Line website. Click on the “Already Booked” tab at the top of the main page and select “My Reservations” under the section labeled “My Disney Cruise.” Once you access your reservation page, click on “Modify or Cancel Reservation” to see available options. You can then upgrade or modify your stateroom based on the current availability for your particular sailing. If you need assistance or have questions about available upgrades, then you can also always reach out to Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532. Cast members are available to speak with you Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM EST, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.

Just remember that the price of your cruise may be impacted by changes to your stateroom category, deck, or specific location onboard. That means that you will have to pay the difference between your current fare and the prevailing rate for whichever new stateroom you select.

I’m sure that you will have a lot more questions as you continue planning for next summer, so feel free to sail back over to planDisney at any time. Happy sailing!
