Hi there, Rosa! Welcome to planDisney. I can see you’re well underway in planning a family visit to
The Happiest Place on Earth. Spending a day at the parks with your loved ones is always a foolproof way to create some magical memories.
Depending on your parents’ mobility and how much you plan to do during your visit, I would say a day at each park would be both doable and manageable. In fact, when traveling with a 12 year old and grandparents, I often find that a slower pace makes the day more enjoyable for everyone. Taking time to sit down for a meal, enjoy a show, or simply relax with a Mickey pretzel can be a great way to recharge before heading off to the next park.
As for whether you need a Park Hopper
ticket, I don't think it's a must-have for your group. With two days to explore, you can dedicate one day to Disneyland and one day to California Adventure without feeling rushed. This approach allows you to experience the magic of each park while avoiding the extra walking that comes with hopping back and forth between parks.
That said, if your daughter is eager to experience attractions in both parks and your family enjoys flexibility, a Park Hopper ticket can certainly be a nice option. Just keep in mind that it may mean more walking and a faster-paced day, which can be tiring for some Guests. At the age of 12, I find that they’re eager to go on multiple attractions. A
Lightning Lane Multi Pass for your family can be a great way to maximize your time in both parks without having to wait in the standby lines!
Rosa, thank you so much for visiting
planDisney. I hope this information was helpful as you continue to plan your family trip with your parents and daughter. If you have any more questions until then, planDisney is here for you!
