Hi! I’ll be staying at the Polynesian next month with an infant. Is there a certain longhouse you would suggest requesting for a quieter atmosphere? Proximity to pools or transportation isn’t necessarily a priority. Thanks for your help!

Hello, Elizabeth! Welcome back to planDisney. What an exciting trip! Getting to introduce your little one to the wonders of Disney will lead to many magical memories, I’m sure.

You’ve chosen a great resort to stay at with a little one. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has everything you need for a great first stay with your ohana. Between the calm, laid-back island atmosphere, convenient and high-quality dining options, and convenient transportation to the parks, you’re going to have a great trip!

Tuvalu is probably going to be the quietest longhouse, since it’s surrounded by water on three sides and is only approached by guests who are staying in that building. There isn’t really a walking path near it, and it’s somewhat out of the way for other guests. Fiji would be another good option, as it is further away from the pools and monorail than some buildings, though there may be more foot traffic than Tuvalu, and it’s near the boat rentals. I’d also recommend requesting a third-floor room near the end of the hallway. There is an elevator for your stroller, and staying at the end of the hall will decrease the possibility of noise from guests stomping past your door during naptime. If you’ve already made your reservation, call and speak to a friendly cast member before your trip to add these requests to your reservation.

Being on the Monorail loop means easy access to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The Transportation and Ticket Center is just a short walk from the other side of the Polynesian Resort, where you’ll catch the monorail to EPCOT. This means there is no need to skip a nap or try for a stroller nap in the heat. Just pop back to your room for a break. My family stayed at Poly a couple of weeks ago, and it was such a delightful stay. We loved all of the restaurants, and the pools were exceptional. You all may enjoy one of the quiet pools, the Kikis Tikis Splash Play area, or the Moana’s Voyage splash area to cool down and take a break from the parks.

Elizabeth, I hope this trip brings you so much joy. As a lover of Disney with three kids of my own, I think you’re about to see the Walt Disney World Resort in a whole new way. Everything is fresh and new when you’re seeing it through the eyes of a little one, and the magic is potent! Will they remember it at this age? Maybe not, but they’re soaking the magic in and will grow up knowing this special place the way you do. You’re doing a great thing for your family! I truly wish you a wonderful time on this trip and many more with your family.

Don't hesitate to bring more questions to us at planDisney! I hope you have a magical day!
