Hello, Jubie! Before you know it, you’ll be soaking in the beautiful Alaskan scenery. There is something magical about seeing whales swim and flip their tails in their natural environment or standing on a glacier, marveling at all the different colors of blue.
Planning ahead for rain and cooler temperatures is a good idea. On sunny days, I wore shorts and was pleasantly surprised at how warm it felt. It was noticeably cooler the closer we got to the glacier. Dressing in layers is a good plan so that you can adapt to the changing weather. The Disney Cruise Line website has some
helpful packing suggestions for your sailing and a list of
prohibited items.
I contacted a shoreside agent who shared that you need to leave your Scotchgard behind due to safety concerns. Sprays like this are prohibited. I recommend spraying your items before you leave home. This way, you can waterproof your items in a well-ventilated area, and you’ll have plenty of time for your items to dry and apply an extra coat of protection.
Once you board, check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the entertainment schedule. From character meet-and-greets to live shows, trivia, animation classes, and more, you'll have everything at your fingertips. Don't miss spending time on deck on your glacier viewing day, even if you have a verandah. Decks 9 and 10 come alive with activity! There’s got chocolate and cozy blankets to keep everyone warm. You might even see Captains Mickey and Minnie taking in the amazing view.
Have a great time exploring the Last Frontier!
