Re-bonjour, Christina!
I'm so happy to see you again at planDisney as you continue planning your first visit to Disneyland Paris! Your question brings back such sweet memories of when I lived in Paris and had a
Disneyland Pass. Whenever I felt a little homesick, I'd
hop on the RER A, head straight to the park, and take a relaxing cruise around the world on "
it's a small world". I always felt equal parts comforted by the familiarity of the ride and fascinated with the European perspective on the world with just a touch of a difference to the version at the California resort. It always gave me a sense of comfort, blending the familiarity of home with the unique European touch that makes the Paris version so special.
Christina, I truly believe Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland Paris is
the most beautiful of them all. There's just something magical about that
European flair, especially in the heart of Europe itself. Don't miss the chance to explore beneath the castle—you'll find a dragon lurking in the dungeon! It's a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find at any U.S. park.
And Christina, did you know that
Dumbo the Flying Elephant is found in all six Disney parks worldwide? I would’ve guessed the Haunted Mansion, considering how personal that ride was to Walt Disney, but each Disney park has its own unique version of a haunted mansion! Disneyland Paris’ version is called
Phantom Manor, and it has a spooky, wild west vibe—totally different from what you’d experience back home. I just watched the
“Behind the Attraction” episode all about the various versions on Disney+ all about the Haunted Mansion if you feel like geeking out with me!
Something without an American parallel is
Alice's Curious Labyrinth, a whimsical maze that leads you to the Queen of Hearts' castle, where you can take in a beautiful panoramic view of Fantasyland.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is a looping coaster that's more intense than California's version. And you can't miss
Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and
Big Thunder Mountain—both are a different than their U.S. counterparts, making them absolute must-dos for first-timers.
Finally, make sure to catch the
Disney Electrical Sky Parade at night. It features
a drone display that feels ahead of its time—it's truly magical and something you won’t want to miss!
Well, Christina, I hope I've gotten you
wondering where to start on your international adventure! Certain as the sun rising in the east, you can always
come back to ask me another question as you plan to "Be Our Guest" at Disneyland Paris soon.
C’est la fệte! Danielle
