Hi, I'm visiting Disneyland in Paris but am terrified to drive in a foreign country. Is there any public transportation that we can take to or from there?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Nuvea!

As someone who gets anxious driving anywhere in the world, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the comfortable and efficient public transportation in Paris. It’s truly one of the city's gems, making it easy to get around both within the city and beyond.

Your question brought back some fond memories of my time as a student in Paris. I used to make the most of my Disneyland Pass on weekends, hopping on the RER A train at Gare de Lyon from Paris city center. There’s something so magical about watching the French suburbs fly by from the comfort of that above-ground, double-decker express train. The ride is smooth, charming, and, best of all, incredibly affordable. In just over 40 minutes, you’re whisked away to Disneyland Paris—a perfect way to explore the region.

I remember taking my husband on that same train for an early morning trip to Disneyland Paris before we participated in the Disneyland Half Marathon. And if you have a bit of extra time, I highly recommend exploring the Louis Braille Museum, which is just a 7-minute bus ride from the Marne-la-Vallée Chessy stop that puts you right in at the Disneyland Paris entrance gates.

One of my favorite side adventures is taking the RER A train to Disneyland Paris, spending the morning at the parks, and then catching a local bus to explore the Champagne region. Some of the local towns are so quaint they could be straight out of Princess Belle’s “little town” in Beauty and the Beast, I expected Gaston to burst forth with five dozen eggs and start expectorating!

If you prefer not to take the train, rideshare services can also whisk you away from the city to Chessy, the charming town where Disneyland Paris is located, in just over 30 minutes.

And Nuvea, I just learned about another fantastic way the resort accommodates travelers—the Disneyland Paris Express shuttle. This practical bus service is perfect for the whole family and departs from four super convenient locations in the heart of Paris: the Eiffel Tower area, Opéra, Châtelet, and Gare du Nord. It’s another easy and stress-free option to get you straight to the magic!

I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Nuvea. I’ve loved reminiscing about all the places you can explore without the stress of driving, and I’m thrilled to share that Disneyland Paris is one of the easiest. I’m wishing you “bonne chance” as you seek adventure in the great wide somewhere! I can’t wait for you to 'Be Our Guest' with another question here at planDisney!

    C’est la fệte!
