Hi! I’m a high school French teacher and I’m planning a trip to Paris next summer with teenagers, ranging from 13-17 years old. Is a trip to Disneyland Paris worth it for this age group? If six what lodging would you suggest for a group of 10-15 people?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Victoria!

Since life is sweet here, you’ve got to be here. Naturally.

Victoria, I’m especially excited to answer this question, because I had the privilege of guiding students on tours around France for several years in a row when I was a French teacher. It was truly a dream come true, blending my passion for French culture with the joy of teaching. I also made the effort to get students out to Disneyland Paris for a day—seeing their faces light up as they explored the park was one of the highlights of my career. It wasn’t just about the sightseeing, it was about creating moments of wonder and excitement that they’ll remember for years to come. Trust me, the joy and appreciation from the students made every effort worth it!

My students grew up visiting the Disneyland Resort in California, so if yours are familiar with the Florida resort, I’m sure they’ll be fascinated by all the similarities and differences with the Disneyland Paris resort across the pond. It’s a delightful opportunity for them to experience a different side of the magic, with unique attractions and a charming European flair.

Now Victoria, summer at the resort is glorious, but keep in mind—families and adventurers from all over the world have the same idea, so it can get pretty busy. I opted to take my students on New Year’s Day instead. The Christmas decorations were still sparkling, but the crowds had thinned out. We practically walked onto any ride we wanted throughout the day—it was amazing! My students from California found the crisp, chilly weather refreshing, too. Although it's colder than California or Florida winters, it’s not as frigid as northern American cities. No snow, just a light, brisk breeze that made it feel extra special.

As for lodging, I didn’t organize student stays for our day trips to Marne-la-Vallée. If we didn’t have a private bus to whisk us off to Chessy, we just hopped on the RER A, which was a fun little adventure in itself! But if your Mouseketeers are dreaming of staying overnight, I’d recommend the Disney Hotel Santa Fe. It’s the most affordable, and any Disney-loving teenager will love the Cars-themed rooms and decor.

Oh, and here’s a Pro Tip: If you stay at Santa Fe, don’t forget to take advantage of the complimentary warm beverage machines each day! Just swipe your room key and help yourself to some free hot chocolate, cappuccino, or a latte—perfect for a cozy late-night treat or an early morning pick-me-up!

Well Victoria, the lute play the flute, the carp play the harp, the plaice play the bass….and I’ve got to get back to answering more questions. I hope this helps you get started with your epic plans for your lucky students, Victoria! If you come up with any other questions as you gather your merfolk, you know where to find me!

    Vas-y souffle, mon doudou!!
