My husband is a retired L.A.County first responder. Is there any discounts or special areas for him at WDW?

Hello, Candace! On behalf of everyone on our planDisney team, we salute your husband for his bravery on the frontlines. Almost everyone has a story about how a first responder has helped them, or someone they know, so please tell him thank you from us!

While Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of deals and special packages for members of the United States Military and their families, they do not have discounts for first responders at this time. I recommend checking the Special Offers page on the Walt Disney World website, where they often feature deals on tickets and resort stays. You might also want to contact some of the Disney Springs Resort Area hotels. Last summer, educators and first responders qualified for discounted rates. And in October, in honor of National First Responders Day, some dining locations, such as Rainforest Cafe and Yak and Yeti Restaurant, had a 15% discount as a thank you. I suggest having your husband bring along his valid first responder identification because it never hurts to ask!

Here's one more planDisney tip, Candace. You and your husband may enjoy the Flag Retreat located in Main Street, U.S.A., at Magic Kingdom Park. Although this nightly ceremony is a tribute to our veterans, it's a beautiful reminder that many Americans sacrifice to protect our country. We appreciate all our nation's heroes!

    Take care,
    Eean
