My husband has managed our grandson’s account since he’s was 1. He is now 13 and he would like to turn the account over to him. How can this be done?

Hi Lisa, and welcome to planDisney. I’ve been having so much fun watching my nephew grow up at Disney World, so I can only imagine the core memories you’ve made with your grandson over the last 12 years! Let’s make sure he’s set up to start managing his own MyDisney account.

Your husband can invite your grandson to take control of his profile through the Disney World website. Have your husband go to the Family & Friends List, where your grandson should be under Guests You Manage towards the top of the page. Click Manage and you’ll see the option to invite your grandson to sign in and plan on his own (this only shows up for guests 13 years and older). When you press the Invite button, put in your grandson’s email address to send the invitation.

Once your grandson completes the process on his end, he'll be able to log into his MyDisney account in the My Disney Experience app and start navigating the parks on his own! This includes booking and modifying Lightning Lane selections and opening his Disney Resort Hotel room door.

With his own MyDisney account, your grandson can use the Play Disney Parks app to test his Disney trivia knowledge, play games in attraction queues, explore EPCOT through the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, and take on missions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. If he has a MagicBand+, he can also channel his inner Boba Fett with the Batuu Bounty Hunters game.

March is one of the most beautiful times of year to visit Disney World with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival going on. The park will be covered in colorful plants, making it a practically perfect place to take family pictures. There are even festival-exclusive Magic Shots for a bit of extra fun! You and your grandson might also enjoy Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration scavenger hunt. My nephew and I love looking for Spike the Bee while we snack around World Showcase’s Outdoor Kitchens. There’s also a garden-themed prize at the end! You can purchase a scavenger hunt map in select gift shops to get started.

I’m wishing you and your family many magical Disney vacations in the years to come! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
