Hey there, Dana, and welcome back to planDisney!
It's a pleasure to see you with us once again and thanks for submitting your question! I'm excited to see that you'll be visiting Walt's original Park this time! I hope you find it just as charming and wonderful as we do. There's definitely something magical about Walt having had such a direct hand in developing Disneyland Park!
I'm glad that you've had a chance to take the
Disneyland Mobile App out for a spin before your arrival. It's a little different from My Disney Experience but I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up in no time. You might have noticed that there's no Family & Friends List. Even so, Guests are able to link their tickets to another MyDisney account, which makes the visit much more convenient for a group. Within the App, go to the "☰" Features Menu and scroll down to "Link to Account" and then scan your husband's ticket bar code. Now that you're both linked on your account, you'll be able handle park reservations, virtual queues, and Lightning Lanes for both tickets!
Since you didn't include
Lightning Lane Multi Pass with your ticket purchase, you'll have to purchase it on a daily basis after scanning into the Parks each morning. If you're both linked, you'll be able to purchase it together in one transaction on your phone after you've both entered the Parks. You don't have to purchase it separately. I find it much easier to have one person in charge of booking Lightning Lanes and arranging the Park day. Are you up for the challenge?
Your visit is almost here, Dana!
Haunted Mansion Holiday just reopened so you might be able to get a glimpse of the Grounds Expansion but remember that it's virtual queue only at this early stage. If the two of you are Pixar fans, be sure to enjoy the final day of
Pixar Fest on your arrival day, too!
Fun Fact: On Main Street, U.S.A., you'll see the Firehouse and a lit lamp on the second floor where Walt Disney kept his apartment. There's also a fire pole in the corner where urban legend says that a Guest once climbed up into the apartment and that the access hole was closed up soon after! I like to give a silent thanks to the lamp which represents Walt's Disney's enduring presence in the Park. You can actually tour the apartment on
Walt's Main Street Story Tour!
Dana, I hope this was useful information for you and that it helped prepare you and your husband for your magical trip! I wish you the best time there and please reach out anytime you have more questions! We'll see ya real soon!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
