Hiya, Gerianne! Welcome to planDisney! I am happy to scare up some answers to your Disneyland Resort visit questions!
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is frightfully fun for ghouls of all ages! I attended last year, and we had a wickedly good time dressing up as our favorite Disney characters. It’s the one night where the young and young at heart can embrace the magic and arrive dressed to impress!
This separately ticketed event is packed with tricks, treats, and villainous fun throughout the evening. You’ll find Treat Trails featuring favorite Disney Villains, character meet and greets, Villains Grove, which was one of my favorite parts of the night, and new this year, Madame Leota's Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party.
The quick answer to your question is yes, you can head over to Disneyland Park for Fantasmic! if it is showing on your party day. That said, let me share a little from my own experience and a few things to consider while planning your boo-tiful Disney day.
Oogie Boogie Bash takes place at Disney California Adventure on select nights beginning at 6 p.m. Guests can enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3 p.m., which is exactly what we did. It gave us extra park time before the party officially began.
You could purchase a One Day One Park Ticket and start your day at Disneyland Park if that works best for your plans. For us, though, we wanted to soak up every minute of the party itself, and we noticed the crowds thinned out later in the evening. That meant shorter Treat Trail lines and more playful interactions with the Villains.
Now, about hopping back to Disneyland Park for Fantasmic!, I completely understand the temptation. It’s an iconic show, and watching Mickey whisk everyone away on that magical adventure with the music, projections, and pyrotechnics feels like the perfect end to a magical day.
Here’s the pumpkin spice twist to keep in mind: if you are wearing a costume, you will not be allowed to enter Disneyland Park. Adult costumes are only permitted during Oogie Boogie Bash inside California Adventure, so you would need to change before park hopping.
The other big thing to consider is that I cannot guarantee Fantasmic! will be offered on your visit day. It’s still too early for the
entertainment schedule to be posted, but after summer, Fantasmic! is typically shown only on weekends. Since I see your arrival day is a Thursday, there’s a chance it may not be offered that evening.
Gerianne, if your schedule allows, I would consider adding an extra day or two to your visit. You could enjoy Oogie Boogie Bash on Thursday, then dedicate Friday to Disneyland Park and Fantasmic!. That way, you’re not racing from one spooky spectacular to another.
I recommend looking into a
Fantasmic! Dining Package. It includes reserved viewing for the show, which equals less waiting and stress! Reservations usually open 60 days in advance, so that can help give you clues on whether performances will be scheduled during your trip.
Oogie Boogie Bash tickets materialize very soon! General admission tickets go on sale June 18, 2026, and the waiting room is expected to open around 8:45 a.m. Pacific Time. You’ll want to be ready right when the clock strikes, Cinderella-style, for your best chance at snagging tickets.
I hope you have a spellbinding time at the Happiest Place on Earth! Come visit us again anytime if we can help answer more questions.
Happy Haunting!
