Hello, Hannah, and thank you for stopping by planDisney as you prepare for your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! If you're purchasing
Lightning Lane passes, your visit must be close. Let's look at ways you and your husband can maximize the magic!
As someone who recently took the "chicken elevator" instead of boarding
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, I understand that not everyone enjoys every attraction. However, my friends weren't so brave when I wanted to ride
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain twice! My mantra is to each their own, and it sounds like you and your husband agree.
I chatted with a helpful Cast Member who said you have some options. First, your husband could scan in as if he's going to ride and even accompany you along the Lightning Lane queue. Just let the first Cast Member at the attraction entrance know he doesn't plan to ride, and they'll confirm he can come along. Once you've both scanned in, you can choose a new attraction together. I usually do this as I stroll along the queue!
Typically, guests who aren't riding will separate before boarding and go to an area near the attraction exit to wait for their party. Some Lightning Lane queues can take a few minutes, so at least you could keep each other company! This option will be beneficial if the attraction has a second scan-in point because you can only choose a new attraction once both have been scanned.
Another option is to
modify your husband's Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections after you've purchased them. My pal Amy C. explains the
modification process that you'll do in your
My Disney Experience mobile app. Remember, you can only choose an attraction once per day, so if he decides to do something else, he won't be able to select it again with you. If you'd like to go that route, you should be able to make changes now.
Any time you need assistance inside the theme parks, look for the blue umbrellas. The
Guest Experience Team can wave their magic wands to help.
Hannah, I hope I've given you some options to divide and conquer on your upcoming visit. So many rides, so little time! You and your husband will have a fantastic time and make some memories to treasure. Please come back to
planDisney anytime. I'll be the one proudly riding the chicken elevator!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
