Hi Kristin!
I hope you are having a magical day and that my reply gets to you in time. I can't say I'm not jealous of your ability to pop in for a bit of sightseeing and daydreaming at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've had the chance to stay there twice before and love the serene atmosphere and unique dining options!
Guests are typically not permitted to park at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel unless they are registered guests or have an advance dining reservation. If you are interested in grabbing a bite to eat during your visit I recommend seeing if any same-day reservations are available at
Sanaa, one of my favorites, or
Boma - Flavors of Africa, which I have yet to experience. Sanaa offers beautiful savanna views and Boma is an excellent choice for all-you-care-to-enjoy of some of the most unique menu items on property. Cast Members will confirm your name and reservation details when you arrive at the entrance gate and
will typically permit you to park for about 3 hours. This would give you time to enjoy a delicious meal and explore the resort grounds at both Jambo House and Kidani Village which are connected via an internal shuttle.
If you aren't up for dining, I recommend parking at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and utilizing
complimentary bus transportation to the resort. These buses arrive every 20 minutes or so and the ride is just a few minutes long. If you happen to be an
Annual Passholder standard theme park parking should be complimentary. Alternatively, you can park at Disney Springs and board a bus to the resort. This ride will be a bit longer but
parking is complimentary at Disney Springs.
I hope this helped, Kristin. If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know. Wishing you a wonderful day of exploration with your husband!
Adventure is out there,
Amy
