Hi Jobie,
Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question today. I know
traveling with little ones can bring on its own set of challenges, but I'm happy to help!
You are correct that
guests may bring pre-packaged, unopened baby food and formula on board the ship packed in their carry-on items as long as it doesn't require any preparation from the kitchen. Unfortunately, opened food items cannot be brought off the ship at the end of the sailing including formula. I
reached out to a Disney Cruise Line Crew Member who confirmed this and indicated it is based on customs regulations. They suggested that you bring individual ready-to-feed bottles or smaller cans of formula so you aren't forced to toss a larger, full can at the end of your itinerary.
Baby items like diapers, pacifiers, shampoo, and/or formula are available for purchase onboard, but unfortunately, specific brands or sizes cannot be guaranteed. I know this is not the news you hoped to hear but I hope you can still find a way to make this work. I'd also like to mention that freshly pureed vegetables are available in the main dining rooms and can also be requested via
complimentary room service if your little sailor is ready for that type of menu.
Jobie, if we can answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to sail right back and let us know. I'm also including a
link to the planDisney pocket guides for each Disney Cruise Line ship in case you'd like to learn more as you countdown to your sailing.
Wishing you a magical cruise,
Amy
