How ya doin', Marena, and welcome to planDisney!
There's no better way to celebrate a birthday than with a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. With your husband and your furry little assistant in tow, I'm sure you're going to have the best time.
Service dogs are welcome at the Walt Disney World Resort. Since they serve a different function than pets or emotional support animals, these helpful hounds are welcome inside the parks as well as in all Disney Resort Collection hotels. Since you've got a wider variety available than just the
pet-friendly resorts, I've got a few options that should suit y'all just fine.
Since EPCOT is the main party destination for this visit, I'd recommend a stay in one of the EPCOT area resorts.
Disney's Beach Club Resort,
Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and
Disney's BoardWalk Inn are all a quick walk away from the International Gateway entrance to the World Showcase area of the park, with Yacht Club also being on the pet-friendly accommodations list. You'll be able to pop right out for a break and get to any one of those easily for a break. In my personal experience at Beach Club, sometimes even if I'd visited another park that morning, I'd use my
Park Hopper Option to pop into EPCOT for a little snack from somewhere near the entrance and walk right back to my resort with it.
Pro-tip: If you decide to go with Yacht or Beach Club, I have to tell you that you'll also be getting access to what is arguably the best pool on property.
Stormalong Bay features a zero-entry sand-bottom pool, a shipwreck water slide, and a lazy river. It feels like its own mini water park within your resort!
Pro PRO-tip: There are several designated relief areas for your service dog both inside the parks and at your resort. Just ask a Cast Member, and they'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
Marena, a very merry unbirthday to you, and have the most magical time. Pace yourself, stay hydrated, and take rest when you need to. And if you have any more questions about how to really maximize your time at EPCOT, please feel free to
come back for another chat.
Happy planning!
