Hello there Shanon,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending in your question today. As a Disney loving adult myself, it really warms my heart to think of you and your son making magical memories together!
I did a little digging to discover your current options at Walt Disney World resort. My fellow panelist and friend Kami is a wheelchair user, and she wrote a very
helpful guest response that describes what is available for adult-sized changing tables at each of the four Disney Parks. As you mentioned, these are located at the
First Aid Stations and they do not currently feature hoyer lifts. Unfortunately, we have no news of future plans to add hoyer lifts to these locations.
One other magical Disney adventure option comes to mind, that I wanted to share with you.
Have you ever considered trying a
Disney Cruise? I sailed on my first Disney Cruise last Fall, and I was thrilled to discover how much Disney magic is woven into every moment of the experience. Between beloved Disney character greetings, Disney movie themed dining venues, and spectacular Broadway-caliber Disney shows... it felt every bit as magical as my trips to Disney World! Our voyage on the Disney Wish included the show
Alladin, and it was absolutely incredible. My friend who travels frequently with her adult disabled son has found this is a terrific and somewhat easier way to experience a pixie-dusted vacation together, than visiting the Disney Parks. And although they are not provided, you can rent a
Hoyer Lift for use on your Disney Cruise.
I hope this helps, Shanon. Bless you for keeping the joy of Disney alive for your son! I'll be wishing upon a star that a magical vacation together is in your future. Please reach out to us at planDisney at any time.
Never stop dreaming!
