Hi there, Amy!
Welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your Halloween adventure to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Let's talk about traveling during potentially
severe weather.
I was in
Walt Disney World during Hurricane Nicole in 2022 and was impressed by the communication I received during my stay. Make sure to enable push notifications from the My Disney Experience mobile app; this is one way to get park operation and special event updates. On my trip, a
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was canceled due to an early park closure, and ticketed Guests were notified of refund options on the mobile app.
At this point, please stay tuned to the
My Disney Experience app and
this website for further information. The in-room televisions in
onsite accommodations will also display park operation updates on the resort information channel.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you, Amy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for blue skies and sunshine, but I'll share a few quick tips for making the most of a rainy theme park visit.
*Bring disposable ponchos from home. I've seen the theme park stores sell out on wet days with high demand.
*Ponchos can be inconvenient; you'll be asked to remove them before boarding certain attractions, and on warm days, they're uncomfortable. Some members of my family prefer umbrellas, so we carry a few travel-size umbrellas in our backpacks.
*Speaking of backpacks, consider
renting a locker to store a bag of dry clothes you can change into if you become waterlogged.
*Crocs are an excellent choice for footwear on a rainy evening. If you don't have any, shop for Halloween-themed clogs in
The Emporium and other merchandise locations.
*When you return to your resort, stop by the
laundry facility and toss wet items into a dryer. Most Guest laundry rooms are located near pools.
Best wishes for a frightfully fun evening, Amy. Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, and we look forward to welcoming you "home" tomorrow!
Have a bibbidi bobbidi BOO-tiful day,
Betsy
