Hi there, Jennifer, and
bienvenue to planDisney!
I'm delighted that you stopped by with a question about
runDisney! I happened to be at Disney's Animal Kingdom today, and the number of runners proudly wearing their Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend medals was so inspiring. It was also incredibly heartwarming to hear the words of encouragement shared by Guests with the runners they encountered. The running and Disney communities foster such a sense of camaraderie separately, but when combined it is truly magical.
Like you, I was so excited to see the announcement of the
runDisney 2025-2026 Race Season. While I also dream of the day I'm able to cross a magical finish line in France, Jennifer, unfortunately, I do not believe 2026 will be the year this happens. Because the phrase '2026 Race Details to Come' is located in the section dedicated to Disneyland Resort's races, I believe it is referring to a race that will take place in early 2026 such as the
Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.
I'm sure this is disappointing, Jennifer, but when I grow restless in waiting, I try to remind myself that Lumiere and Cogsworth endured a much more taxing wait than this. If (but hopefully when)
runDisney returns to
Disneyland Paris, I think we can expect an announcement that can't be missed, but just in case, I encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and
runDisney's social media so that you can be one of the first to know.
I'll be running the
Springtime Surprise 10-Miler at Walt Disney World with several of my
planDisney pals in April, Jennifer, and there are currently still bibs available, so if you'd like to race while you wait I think this
practically perfect distance is a great option!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
