Welcome to planDisney, Gavin. Thanks for stopping by!
I'm so happy to hear that you've just joined the ranks of
Disneyland Magic Key holders. Your Magic Key unlocks a year of visits to the
Disneyland Resort theme parks, and it will be even better with a friend to share it with. For the Imagine Key, which is only available for Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599, all Guests 18 years of age and older must show a government-issued photo ID to activate the pass. I understand that you recently took photos when using a
single-day ticket; however, they will take a new photo when you activate your passes. They check IDs for the
Imagine Key to ensure a Guest resides within the specified zip codes.
Your pal has a full year from the date of purchase to activate their pass before it expires, so they may need to wait until they get an ID to utilize their Magic Key for the first time. Additionally, photo identification may be required to use any Magic Key discounts or benefits that come with the pass. For more information on the photo requirement for Magic Key holders, please check out the
Magic Key Terms & Conditions.
Gavin, I hope this information answers your question. Please hurry back if you have any more!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
