Welcome back, Rosa. Thanks for bringing us another great question!
I see that my
planDisney pal Al gave you some great information on how to purchase and activate a
Disneyland Magic Key. The
Disneyland Resort Magic Key Terms and Conditions state that a pass must be activated within one year of the date of purchase. So if someone is lucky enough to get two Magic Keys for Christmas, they would need to ensure that they are activated within a year of the purchase. They could do this by activating the first pass immediately, and then activating the second pass shortly before the first pass's expiration date and before the anniversary of the second pass's purchase date. It sounds tricky and can certainly be done. The best part is that it will be two years' worth of continuous magic!
Rosa, if a Magic Key pass is not activated within a year of its purchase the amount paid for the "unactivated, expired Pass may be applied towards the purchase of a new Pass (subject to availability) at the then current price so long as the new Pass purchase price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original Pass." So even if the person isn't able to activate the second pass within a year of its purchase, the cost can be applied to another pass, if available. I caution that Magic Keys are not always available for purchase. This last pause of Magic Key sales lasted around five months!
I hope this information helps, Rosa. We're always happy to help so please let me know if you have any more questions!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
