Hi there! We’re heading to Disney in a week and I’ve booked a campsite. My parents are coming along but don’t want to do the parks yet Disney is making me buy tickets for them. Is there a way around this?

    Hi Erin,

Welcome to planDisney! As a Coloradan who loves to go camping... I am very jealous of your plans to camp at Fort Wilderness. Nature + Disney = What a magical combination! Sounds like your parents are planning to come along for the nature and relaxing vibes. I like their style, too.

You're wanting to reserve a Fort Wilderness campsite with all of your guests included, but only purchase theme park tickets for a few. Normally what you would do is book a "room-only" reservation for your campsite, and then purchase theme park tickets separately. Given your timeline and description of already having a reservation, sounds like you may already have a vacation package booked and are outside the free cancellation window. If that is the case, I recommend calling a friendly Cast Member as soon as possible, and asking if there are any options to adjust this for you.

By including your parents on your campsite reservation, they will be entitled to the perks included in staying at a Disney Resort. Did you know that in 2025, guests will receive FREE admission to a Disney Water Park on arrival day? This will apply to your parents too, if they would be interested in joining you.

I hope this helps answer your question, Erin. Have a magical stay!

    See ya' real soon,
    Tami
