Are guests permitted to bring a lightsaber from Savi's workshop back into the park on future park visits? Will groups need to swap riders where carryons are not permitted?

Bright Suns, Adam, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like the Force is guiding your thoughts towards future adventures with your handbuilt lightsaber from Savi's Workshop. Let's ignite some answers about bringing it back into the parks at the Disneyland Resort!

First, let me assure you, that's affirmative! You can absolutely bring your custom Savi's Workshop lightsaber back with you into Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park on future visits. Just be sure to use its power for good... or maybe just for awesome photos!

Now, navigating the parks with your lightsaber does require a bit of planning, especially when considering attractions. On many rides, you might find you can carefully stow your lightsaber (usually with the blade detached from the hilt and stored in its carrying case) down by your feet. However, for some attractions with specific seating or movement, carrying it might not be feasible for safety reasons. In many cases, a Cast Member may be able to help by storing your lightsaber while you enjoy the attraction.

If you'd rather not worry about keeping track of it all day while you’re exploring the parks, fear not, young Padawan! The Resistance... I mean, the resort... offers a few helpful options! You could utilize the large lockers located just outside the parks in the Main Entrance Esplanade; they are often just spacious enough to hold a lightsaber, especially if the hilt and blade are separated. Alternatively, the package checking service (for new purchases) is a very convenient option where you can drop off your lightsaber and other purchased souvenirs at designated locations while you enjoy the parks, and then pick them up later as you leave for the day. You'll find several locations available within both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, as well as at the Disneyland Resort Stroller Shop in the Esplanade. Be sure to check the Disneyland website for specific locations and details.

Just a few more quick thoughts for your future missions, Adam! Definitely plan for some epic photos with your lightsaber in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, especially as evening approaches—the glow is fantastic! Carrying it there might even spark some fun interactions with Batuu's citizens or characters. Remember its padded case for easier transport, and maybe check those batteries beforehand! And, as always, keep the Disneyland mobile app handy on your datapad... er, phone! It's invaluable for checking wait times and mobile ordering food and beverages throughout the resort. Speaking of that datapad, you may also want to download the Play Disney Parks app to unlock special galactic experiences during your visit with the Star Wars: Datapad feature.

So, Adam, whether you choose to stow your saber safely using a locker or package check, or keep it with you throughout your visit for those epic Batuu moments, you've got great strategies available! Whichever way you choose, you’ll be free to enjoy all the other incredible adventures waiting for you across the resort—from exploring classic lands and riding thrilling attractions to enjoying dazzling entertainment and delicious treats. I hope these tips help you plan a visit that is truly out of this galaxy!
