Good morning! I have an upcoming trip to the DVC Cabins at Ft. Wilderness. After the remodel, do the cabins have grills available?

Hi Christine, welcome home and welcome back to planDisney! It looks like you’ll be arriving at your Disney Vacation Club cabin shortly, so let’s get you an answer right away!

You’ll be happy to know that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness are equipped with a charcoal grill! No better way to enjoy the great outdoors than throwing some burgers and hot dogs on the grill and enjoying them on your patio deck. You’ll find a table with bench seating outside as well. Disney also provides a handy little shoe cleaner on the outdoor deck to wipe off any dirt or leaves on your shoes before you enter your cabin. My wife absolutely loves this amenity since she’s not much of an outdoorsy person. These cabins are the closest we’ll get to camping!

I noticed in a prior question that you mentioned having a little one. You’ll be happy to know that you can request a crib or pack-and-play (and crib sheets) from Member Services prior to your arrival that can be delivered to your cabin (subject to availability). During our stay at the Fort Wilderness Cabins, we requested a pack-and-play for our little one. One less thing for you to pack!

Christine, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but you’ve picked a great time to be at a DVC Resort because DVC will be celebrating Welcome Home Weeks during your stay! As part of this celebration, you’ll find discounts such as 40% off dining at select table service restaurants, unique character experiences, and complimentary sweet treats or coffee at select DVC Resorts and at select Disney Springs locations. Check out this page for more details, including dates, times, and locations for all the offerings. Don’t forget that since you’re staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel, you’ll also be eligible for free water park admission on your check-in day!

Christine, hopefully this answers your question and gives you some insight into what to expect on your upcoming DVC stay at Walt Disney World! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
