Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) when you visit Walt Disney World. As a fellow DAS mom, I can tell you that this service is a game-changer for guests with developmental disabilities like Autism or similar. Since you have already registered, all you need to do now is download the
My Disney Experience app if you haven’t already and enjoy the parks by requesting DAS return times in the app for your son and up to 3 additional party members. It’s an amazing service that really helps
guests with special needs.
While DAS gives some guests the ability to have a more enjoyable experience on attractions in the 4 theme parks, the service does not extend to entertainment. There are no DAS viewing areas in the parks for shows, fireworks or parades. I know this is probably a bummer, but Disney does have a few resources that might help you with planning so that you can provide the most enjoyable experience possible for your son. Here in the
Accessibility Planning Guide you will find a great deal of information regarding how to navigate Disney World with special needs. I think you will also find the
Sensory Experience Details for Guests with Disabilities helpful because it provides guests with details on everything they can expect from attractions and entertainment in all 4 theme parks.
