Hey Betty,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing this question about your upcoming Walt Disney World visit to us. Having a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth booked always makes me so happy – I really love the planning process. I do realize it can be a little overwhelming for some as there are quite a few things you may want to do before you go. Let’s get a game plan together for you so that you can tackle it all.
Check out the
Get Ready for your Vacation page. It provides handy next steps along with things you’ll want to consider for your vacation. The very first thing you’ll want to do is download the
My Disney Experience app if you haven’t already as this will be your passport to all 4 theme parks. Use it to add payment methods to charge food and merchandise to your room using your
MagicBand+ or your Key to the World Card (room key). The mobile app also contains park maps, restaurant menus, mobile ordering and more. Ensure that your family and friends are connected to you in the app for a seamless experience.
Next, think about any table service dining or
Enchanting Extras Collection experiences you may want to have when you visit. You can book these at 60 days prior to your visit. Consider whether you’ll want to add extra experiences to your trip like
Lightning Lane, which is Disney’s service that allows you to skip the standby queue, or
Memory Maker which gives you unlimited access to all your PhotoPass downloads (hands down, my favorite add-on).
Once you’ve thought through these options, you’re ready to start planning out your park days. Review the
Hours & Events Calendar for your dates and make sure there are no special events happening while you’re visiting that might impact your park time. If there are, plan your days around them (i.e., if there’s a special event happening at Magic Kingdom on a Wednesday during your visit that causes that park to close early, and you really want to see
Happily Ever After, plan to visit that park on another day during your stay.)
I hope these suggestions are helpful, Betty. If I can help further, please don’t hesitate to return to planDisney to
ask another question. Until then, have the best time and TTFN… ta-ta for now!
