Good Evening Is there better days to meet characters? We will be coming this weekend for a gymnastics meet and I will have a day to bring my grandson there to try and make up for the bad trip we had in 2021

Welcome back to planDisney, Sue! I'm excited to see you're making plans for a magical visit with your grandson, and if meeting characters is at the top of your list, I'm happy to give you some tips and tricks to ensure you get maximum hugs, high fives, and autographs from all of your favorite Disney pals!

Sue, any day you get to meet your favorite Disney characters is a great day, and since most character meet and greets happen regularly throughout all four of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, I think whichever day you choose to visit will be a day surrounded by magical friends! To help you plan, I'd love to offer some tips:
    • If there are certain characters you absolutely must meet, check for their locations and meeting times in your My Disney Experience mobile app. Some characters meet at certain places in the parks for set windows of time, so you'll want to ensure you arrive in enough time to get in line before the line closes.
    • Consider visiting meet and greets where you can see more than one character at a time to maximize the magic. Greeting locations such as Mickey and Friends in Communicore Hall at EPCOT, Pete's Silly Slideshow at Magic Kingdom Park, and Adventurers Outpost in Animal Kingdom Theme Park offer guests a chance to interact with multiple characters at once!
    • Character dining is another great option to meet characters without standing in line. Some of my favorites are Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT and brunch at 'Ohana in the Polynesian Resort.
    • Always keep your eyes peeled for unexpected character sightings - we have found characters roaming freely at our Disney Resort hotel and throughout the parks for unannounced pop-up meet and greets! You can also find many familiar faces in shows and parades throughout the park, including Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade in Magic Kingdom Park and the nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios!
I hope this helps, Sue, and I'm wishing you and your grandson the most magical day meeting all your favorite characters and enjoying the attractions, shows, and experiences that come along with visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any other planning questions, come back to planDisney any time and let us know!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
