Hi Jessica!
Walt Disney World is the most magical place on Earth but I would also argue that it is the most accessible. We have navigated the theme parks and resorts often with a wheelchair and they make it as simple as possible.
Disney World has 4 theme parks that all have a variety of rides that will fall under the transfer required and also wheelchair-enabled categories. Here is a
handy guide that details all of the rides and how guests with mobility disabilities can easily navigate them. The best way for me to navigate this is by utilizing the printable park maps:
Magic Kingdom,
EPCOT,
Hollywood Studios, and
Animal Kingdom. On the maps and at the entrance area to each ride while you are on property, there will be indicators for whether the ride requires a transfer or if the guest can ride in their wheelchair.
If you do not want to print and bring these maps or save them on your phone, there are also indicators available in the
My Disney Experience App. In the app click on the map icon at the bottom and you can navigate your way through each of Disney's 4 theme parks. You will see indicators with ride wait times at each ride location. If you click on that time, and then click the ride name, more details will populate about the ride including all accessibility information and transfer requirements.
Please come back if you have more questions and I hope you all have a wonderful family trip.
Happy Planning
Jenna
