Is there gluten free vegetarian food available at any Disney resort restaurants as part of dining package

    Hi Manpreet,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!

I visited Walt Disney World Resort with my goddaughter who has Celiac earlier this year and, let me tell you, she had the most MAGICAL time! One of the biggest reasons why is because she always found safe and delicious food to eat at each Disney Dining location that we visited. One of her absolute favourites was the gluten free pasta at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (she said it was the first time she had eaten spaghetti in a restaurant since her diagnosis a few years ago) but she really didn’t have a problem finding food at any of the places we visited. She also LOVED the gluten free churros at the Nomad Lounge. I’m happy to say that both of these items were not only gluten free but also vegetarian!

As for whether a given item would be available as part of a Disney Dining Plan, if that location accepts a dining plan, then the chances are good that it would qualify. Please ask your server or the Cast Member taking your order if you have any questions about any specific items on the menu, both in terms of their ingredients and also whether they are included with a Disney Dining Plan.

My biggest tip: when you’re looking at the menus of any Disney Dining location, don’t just look at the “allergy” section. Modifications may be possible for some of the meals that aren’t automatically flagged as being gluten free, but that may be safe for people who are gluten sensitive to eat with a few modifications, and this is true for vegetarian dishes as well. Because you’ll be dining with someone with not one but two dietary restrictions, I highly recommend that you check out the menus for locations that interest you prior to your visit, just to see what your options are.

For more information about how Walt Disney World Resort handles allergy-friendly requests, please visit the Special Dietary Requests page.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
