How to I give Disney App access to my daughter? She is already linked to my Disney account (created several years ago) and now has her own device that she would like to track our trip. Can I link them without creating a new account for her?

    Hey there, Rebekah,

I’m so happy to welcome you to planDisney, and I truly appreciate you bringing your question our way! Isn’t it such a special moment when our kids start wanting to be part of the planning process? It opens the door to a whole new level of excitement for both them and us. Watching them grow, gain confidence, and develop that sense of independence makes it even more special.

If your daughter is 13 or older, she can have her very own My Disney Experience account. It’s a great way to give her a little responsibility while still keeping things secure, since payment methods won’t be accessible until she turns 18.

I actually set this up for my own son last year, and it was super easy! To get started, open the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device. Tap the main menu (the “≡” icon in the bottom right corner), scroll down to “Account,” then select “Profile.” From there, open your “Family & Friends List” in the top right corner. Select your daughter’s profile, tap “Send Email,” and enter their email address. They’ll receive an invitation to accept, and once they do, their account will be ready to go. It will still be linked to your Family & Friends List so you can continue planning together.

If you prefer, you can also complete this process on the Walt Disney World website by selecting your teen’s profile from your Family & Friends List, choosing “Share Planning with (your daughter’s name),” and adding their email address there. If you run into any hiccups along the way, Disney’s Guest Services team or the website’s chat feature is always there to help.

If your daughter hasn’t reached the magical age of 13 just yet, the only way for her to view your plans would be by using your app login information, which I know isn’t always ideal. If that’s not something you’re comfortable with, she can still explore the app without signing in and enjoy features like park maps and attraction wait times.

Rebekah, I hope this helps and that you have the very best trip! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney!
