Hi! Getting excited for our WDW stay pre- and post-cruise aboard the Disney Treasure! We plan to use the free water park day benefit on arrival day(s)- any word on which water park will be open by mid-April? And will Wailulu be taking reservations? Thanks!

    Hi Amy!

Welcome back to planDisney! Talk about an AMAZING trip coming up!

I love that you’re planning to take advantage of your free water park tickets on your arrival day(s) during your time at Disney World. That’s such a fun perk in 2025! As you may know, the water parks are typically open on an alternating basis. And unfortunately, we don’t have a date for when the switch will happen yet.

Blizzard Beach is currently open. But if we look back to 2024, Blizzard Beach closed and Typhoon Lagoon opened in mid-March.  We found out the official date in February, so I’m hoping we get word any day now.  Keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date announcements.

Now, let’s move on to that gorgeous new Island Tower at the Polynesian, which is home to Wailulu Bar & Grill. At this time, this restaurant is only accepting walk-ups. Once you get close to the restaurant, you can join the walk-up list on your My Disney Experience app (pending availability), and you’ll get an estimated wait time.

My fellow planDisney Panelist, Jennifer, got to enjoy this restaurant recently and has some great tips on the best times to visit. It truly sounds like it has such a relaxing vibe, and I can’t wait to try it on a future visit.

If you have any other questions leading up to your trip, let us know! We’re always happy to help!
